Perth Symphony Orchestra: Green Shoots Moora Hay Bale Concert Documentary
I produced the official documentary for Perth Symphony Orchestra’s Green Shoots Moora, creating both a full-length concert film and a shorter documentary exploring how the event was produced. The project documented a year-long collaboration between PSO musicians and the Moora community, culminating in a spectacular concert on 29 March 2025 staged in a ‘theatre’ made entirely of hay bales.
The films capture the scale and joy of the event, highlighting the involvement of local musicians, school choirs, and PSO professionals, and showcasing the life-changing experiences of participants aged 8 to 82. Through interviews, behind-the-scenes footage, and immersive coverage of the performance itself, the documentary celebrates the impact of community engagement, creative mentorship, and the transformative power of music in regional Australia.
This project demonstrates the intersection of cultural programming, community participation, and cinematic storytelling, bringing the spirit of the Moora Hay Bale Concert to audiences far beyond the Wheatbelt region.
