Skeleton Girls. A Kidnapped Society: Original Soundtrack
Skeleton Girls. A Kidnapped Society (2025) is an indie-punk thriller feature film directed by Richard Eames that blends raw narrative with bold animation and a pulsating counterculture aesthetic. The story follows Anna Kaiser as she navigates a frenetic news cycle, underground subcultures and dangerous social terrain, set against a backdrop of social polarisation, violence and subversive satire.
I composed the original soundtrack and music direction for the film, crafting a sonic identity that anchors its punk energy and emotional arcs. Based off my compositional work for Doublethink Prism, of which vocalist Marcus John / Splodge plays one of the main characters in the film. Working closely with the director, I integrated original compositions with curated punk and post-punk music from Western Australian artists including Nerve Quakes, Doublethink Prism, BABA!YAGA!, The Sperts, No Rego, Blac Blocs, Last Quokka and my own band Injured Ninja to amplify the film’s underground voice and visceral impact.
Presented as part of its world premiere at Revelation Perth International Film Festival 2025 and subsequent screenings, Skeleton Girls is an absolutely wild film and it was an honour to create the soundscape to tie this unique story together for its big screen debut.
